Reviews about Staples

Prompt friendly staff. Another example of a regional store applying a national policy. an example of this is our children just got out of school and the store is running all kinds of back to school equipment sales. This might be appropriate for people that live in the midwest or the East Coast but in the north west-- totally out-of-step

I actually didn’t want to write a review. My experience was so bad I didn’t want to offer this place 1 star. But, when I called corporate customer service, I was told I should have called the general manager first. For that reason, I think it’s important a wider audience know the customer experience they’ll be dealing with. This particular location has an individual at the copy center named James. I should have left when I watched him tell the customer in front of me to “scrap the whole idea” and then walked away. James then walked up to me and told me the only way he can print anything is if I use the computer currently being used by the baffled customer in front of me. But, I really need to print a calendar for my ill grandma. I was having a lot of problems with the ancient computer, but he continually walked away from me. He was rude. I got frustrated but needed the calendar so I dealt with it. That is until another customer walked up and asked James to laminate something. The customer then had the audacity to ask James if he had a hole puncher. The response was, “I don’t know but there’s a 3 hole punch over there. Use that one.” The customer did as I was doing, prepared to accept being treated horribly and pay for it. I got up and walked out. I’m not paying Staples so I can print my own calendar and I certainly don’t need to be spoken to in that tone. Then, to have corporate say I need to address my concerns with the general manager, not with them...forget it! I’ll spend $2 on a local business that is willing to not only look for a hole punch, but maybe even offer to punch the hole! Pitiful and petty. Just sad. That said, I did call the Queen Anne location and ask for help. The individual there said he would do it same day but it would be a 50% up charge. He was polite enough. Since I’ve been trying to get this printed well beyond the 24 hour requirement, I’ve just had 2 awful experiences, and I’d have to bus from Westwood Village to Queen Anne, I declined his offer. I’m not going to pay an up charge.
